Mallard Express Coffee vs Mass Commercial
Share
We determined 9 differences that make Mallard Express Coffee and Tea a preferred choice over mass commercial in-store coffee for those that value Freshness, Quick Delivery, Proper Roasting, Taste tied to Terroir, Ethical sourcing practices, Variety in choice of bean and grind, Quality, and Convenience.
Here is a line up of what makes our offering different:
Difference#1
Mallard Express Coffee & Tea Coffee is small Batch Roasted upon order.
Our roasting schedule is based on weekly orders, not warehouse inventory levels.
This optimizes freshness. As coffee freshness peaks 7-14 days after roasting, then flavors start to fade. Commercially mass-produced coffee is roasted months before it arrives on the supermarket shelves
Difference #2
Mallard Express Coffee & Tea Coffee is shipped day of roast straight to you.
There is No storage time. Your order moves fast and smooth. Your beans are delivered full of flavor and character every time. Lengthy supply chain with multiple hand offs and stops are the norm for mass commercial brands. After 2 months, most of the intricate delicious aromas and flavor are nearly gone.
Difference #3
Mallard Express Coffee & Tea Coffee is roasted just right to Light, Medium, or Dark specification. Our coffee is roasted just enough to stay low acid and our dark roast is not too dark to mask the true flavor of the bean. Roasting just right offers smooth flavor with zero bitterness. Flavors and subtle intricacies found by region, elevation and soil types can be enjoyed and savored in all roasting types. Coffee is naturally acidic which gives it an explosion of flavors, but too much acidity can cause symptoms such as indigestion, nausea or upset stomach. Many of the Commercial large scale options at shelf offer French and Italian roasts with very dark roasts to provide very strong -often bitter flavor- to off-set issues of diminishing flavor due to long supply chain.
Difference #4
Mallard Express Coffee & Tea Coffee is premium specialty grade beans sourced from trusted farms around the world-Shade grown-high altitude. With single origin beans, you will know exactly where in the world they were cultivated by region, elevation, soil type, and the process used for drying. Shade-grown plants are protected from pests (no need to use pesticides). With the top soil full of nutrients, the coffee is able to grow at a more natural pace so the beans have a richer, more intricate profile. Single Origin comes from the same location, climate, and farming practices consistently offering a more robust taste and is more sustainable. High altitudes are more expensive to transport the coffee, but worth it because the cooler temperatures slow the growth cycle of the plant which allows it to absorb more complex sugars resulting in a rich defined flavor. Mass Commercial can use stale or lower-quality blends that provide generic taste lacking complexity. Commercial coffee is also many times grown at low altitudes to be easily retrieved- grown under harsher growing conditions like higher temperatures and less rainfall, producing a less tasteful bean.
Difference #5
Mallard Express Coffee & Tea Coffee has only ethically sourced beans. Most coffee farmers are enslaved to the coffee commodity market which sets the global coffee prices and determines how much farmers get paid. Coffee prices might go down so much that farmers struggle to survive and feed their families. We pay significantly more for our coffee than the coffee market rate so that farmers have enough money to support themselves, their families and local community. The alternative to ethically sourced, although cheap at the store shelves, creates problems for the very communities that provide coffee in the world.
Difference #6

Difference #7

You are able to choose the right type for your kitchen... standard grind, coarse grind, espresso grind, and whole bean. If you enjoy coffee brewed drip - select standard grind, or as pour over, chemex, or French press - select coarse grind, Do you enjoy Turkish coffee or Espresso? -select espresso grind, Or if you grind your own - select whole bean. Difference #8
Mallard Express Coffee & Tea Coffee beans are checked for quality and taste by batch.
Inbound beans are checked for quality. After roast, each batch is brewed, cupped and tasted. Quality ensures your drinking delicious coffee completely free from mycotoxins, heavy metals, and mold. With Commercial Large Scale Option, the attention to batches and going through the process of brewing and cupping is often missed by mass production.

With consumption of 1-3 cups a day, total cups consumed in America can hit 400,000,000 cups a day. The average cost of drip is $2.83 and a specialty coffee at the cafe is up to $5.83 and as high as $8.00 at some cafes. Most stay at home coffee drinkers spend $10-$20 per month, where coffee drinkers who go to the cafe or restaurant weekly could spend closer to $30-$40 per month.

Our offering makes it easy, affordable, convenient to try many specialty grade coffees and teas with-out having to go out, and grinds that make special coffee preparation like Chemex and French press and Espresso in the kitchen easier.
